1st March 2010 - GMFS Roars into 2010!
After last year's Kick-Off at the Bottle Tree resort in Yishun, GMFS promised its members a Kick-Off overseas for 2010. This it delivered with the Kick-Off 2010 at Harris Resort, Batam on 1st March 2010. In recognition with the Year of the Tiger, the theme was 'Roar-in 2010' and was based on the attributes of the Tiger.
Everybody had a great time enjoying the sea air, the great food and the views.
The morning session was indoors, with all senior members covering the key issues affecting the Company for the year with CEO, Jasmi Talib summarising at the end of this session. This was followed by a prize presentation ceremony with FCD Shahlan bin Saim the big winner as the Top Financial Consultant for 2009.
After lunch, everybody headed outdoors for some team-building motivational activities. The session was conducted by Harris Resort staff to much merriment as they tried to coax members with underutilised muscles and creaking bones to warm up for the various tasks.
Despite the laughter everybody realised the importance of the messages being conveyed across in the various activities; that is the importance of teamwork, focus, perseverance and understanding and respecting each others role.
After dinner, we took the coach back to Batam Waterfront for the last ferry ride back to Habourfront Terminal. Everybody returned with fond memories of an exciting and enjoyable day at the 'Roar-in 2010'.
For Kick-Off 2011, something exciting will of course be planned. Hint; it will still be overseas, but much nearer."
